kinflow is born of urgency. The suffering of this time reverberates in our hearts. The travesty of American leadership reveals the facade of exceptionalism– leaving many orphaned by a story that had sustained them. The earth's immune system responds feverishly to our failure to protect her– endangering the innocent most of all. The ignorance of the few impoverishes the many– all of us threatened by the precarity of inequity. Yet, speed will not secure our salvation. Slowness summons us. It cries– remember the wisdom that preceded the myth of the transcendent individual. My blood family taught me to contain the messy parts– lest they infect the entire clan like a deadly virus. I do not believe we will contain, or fix, or solve what threatens us. But we can try to heal. And I invite us to heal in the open– awkwardly; yes, even messily. For if we expose our wounds– we let the air of love in.
